May 2025 Product Updates:
This month, we’ve rolled out several powerful improvements across the Lockwell platform to help you protect what matters—with less friction and more clarity. From smarter team oversight to celebratory moments with Elle, here’s everything new in Lockwell this month:
Vault Rebuild: The Password Experience, Upgraded
This month, we’re excited to unveil the completely rebuilt Lockwell Password Vault—designed to be faster, smarter, and simpler for every user.
Passwords are often the first line of defense for your business. But managing them shouldn’t be a source of stress. Whether you’re storing credentials for your own accounts, sharing access across teams, or helping onboard new staff or volunteers, our new Vault is built to make every step intuitive, secure, and streamlined.
Here’s what’s new—and what it means for you:
A Modern, Intuitive Interface
Across both web and desktop, the Vault now has a sleek, redesigned layout that makes it easier to navigate and faster to use. Every interaction—from opening a record to sharing a folder—feels smoother and more responsive.
Inline Search + the “All” Tab
Need to find something fast? The new inline search helps you locate records instantly without switching views. The “All” tab gives you a unified place to browse, filter, and manage everything in your Vault, across all categories (Passwords, Notes, Folders). Think of it as mission control for your digital keys.
Smart Tagging for Seamless Organization
We’ve added flexible tags to help you quickly understand and organize your records:
Type – Easily see whether something’s a password or secure note
Ownership – Know at a glance if a record is owned by you or shared with you
Folder Tag – Quickly identify which folder a record belongs to
Personal Tag – Mark entries as “personal” for private use within your Vault
These tags not only keep things tidy—they also make audits, transfers, and team reviews much easier.
Mass Actions to Save You Time
Managing multiple records is now effortless. Use the new mass update menu to:
Share several records at once
Reassign ownership (great for offboarding or team changes)
Delete old or duplicate entries in bulk
This is especially useful for admins or team leads who manage large sets of credentials.
What This Means for Your Protection
A better Vault isn’t just about convenience—it’s about reducing risk through clarity, control, and speed. When credentials are well-organized, clearly owned, and easy to update or revoke, your team stays safer and more agile.
And this is just the beginning. This rebuild lays the groundwork for more advanced Vault features coming soon, like automated password rotation, deeper analytics, and smarter breach detection.
Bottom line:
The new Lockwell Vault helps you take control of your credential security—without slowing your team down. It’s designed to grow with your organization, and to make good security habits second nature.
Smarter Team Management with Account Flags
When it comes to security, clarity is power—especially around who owns what and which accounts still need attention. That’s why we’ve introduced two new account flags to give your team more visibility and better control: Team-Owned Accounts and Pending Decommission.
These small changes unlock big improvements in how you manage shared access and offboarding. Here’s what’s new:
📧 Team-Owned Accounts: Shared Logins, Clearly Assigned
Some accounts don’t belong to one person—they belong to the team. Think:
sales@yourorg.org
support@yourorg.org
info@yourorg.org
Previously, these accounts could fall into a gray area. Who’s responsible for checking alerts? Who updates the password? Who makes sure it’s protected with 2FA?
Now, you can flag any login as Team-Owned, and assign it a specific owner within your Lockwell team. That person will:
Be prompted to sign into the account, allowing Lockwell to secure it with the email firewall, password vault, and more
Receive regular security digests for the account
Be responsible for resolving any vulnerabilities tied to it
Result: Every account—whether individual or shared—has a clear owner. No more confusion, no more loose ends.
Pending Decommission: Securely Retire Old Accounts
When someone leaves your organization, it’s easy to forget how many systems they had access to—and how many accounts are still technically active.
The new Pending Decommission flag makes it easy to mark these accounts for shutdown and track their status through to completion. Here’s how it works:
Admins flag an account as “Pending Decommission” in Lockwell
An automatic task is created for your admins to:
Deactivate the user in your primary workspace (like Google Workspace)
Deactivate the account in Lockwell
The account remains visible in the team table until it’s safely shut down
It’s like a checklist for secure offboarding—baked right into your platform.
Why This Matters
These updates aren’t just about labels—they’re about accountability, clarity, and reducing human error.
You ensure no account is forgotten
You maintain a clean, up-to-date team table
You reduce the risk of old credentials being reused or exploited
In short: fewer unknowns, fewer assumptions, and a more secure environment.
Big Streak Improvements: Security Habits, Made Rewarding
Great cybersecurity isn’t just about tools—it’s about behavior. That’s why Elle now helps your team build and maintain strong security habits with a smarter, more rewarding streak experience.
These improvements are designed to encourage consistency, make progress more visible, and bring a little joy to staying protected.
Here’s how Elle’s new streak system works:
✅ Live Progress Tracking
Elle now shows your top 5 vulnerabilities and checks them off in real time as you resolve them—so you can literally watch your security progress unfold.
This real-time feedback isn’t just helpful—it’s motivating. You’ll know exactly what’s been handled and what still needs attention, all at a glance.
📅 Positive Streak Feedback
When you’re resolving vulnerabilities regularly, Elle tracks your positive streak and keeps you updated on how long it’s been going. You’ll see:
How many days in a row you’ve been resolving vulnerabilities
How many vulnerabilities you’ve knocked out today
How close you are to extending your streak even further
It’s like a daily workout for your digital health—with immediate results.
🥳 Celebrations for Completion
Hit zero vulnerabilities? You’ll know it. Elle now celebrates with a burst of confetti to mark the moment—and give you that well-earned “we did it” feeling.
It’s a small but meaningful reward, especially for lean teams managing a lot on their plate. Because sometimes, we all need a little spark of recognition.
🚦 Gentle Nudges When You Fall Behind
If your team goes a few days without resolving vulnerabilities, Elle won’t scold you—but she will offer a friendly nudge. You’ll see:
A reminder of how long it’s been since your last activity
A quick list of the top 5 vulnerabilities to start with
Encouragement to get back on track
It’s never about perfection—it’s about progress. Elle makes it easier to pick up where you left off without guilt or guesswork.
💡 Why This Matters
Behavioral psychology tells us that visible progress and positive reinforcement are two of the most effective ways to create lasting habits. These streak updates aren’t just feel-good features—they’re built to drive real security momentum.
With Elle tracking your progress, celebrating your wins, and nudging you forward, your team stays engaged—and your organization stays protected.
A Smoother Experience, A Clearer View of Progress
We’ve introduced a range of UI and usability improvements—all designed to make Lockwell faster to navigate, easier to act on, and more insightful for teams working together to improve their security.
Sharper Language, Clearer Actions
We’ve renamed “issues” to “vulnerabilities” across the platform to better reflect the seriousness—and solvability—of each item. It’s a subtle shift that reinforces what you’re actually managing: risks that can be resolved.
And when it comes time to take action, we’ve simplified that, too. The new layout puts the “Resolve” button front and center, making it clear what to do next. Secondary options are now grouped neatly in a dropdown, keeping the interface clean and focused.
Visual Cues That Save Time
Device avatars have been added to the Team page, so you can quickly see what devices each user has connected. It’s an at-a-glance visual that helps you track coverage across your team.
Our email designs have been refreshed for better readability and quicker action—especially on mobile.
We’ve also improved pagination and filtering throughout the platform, helping you get to the information you need faster.
These changes aren’t just cosmetic—they’re functional enhancements built to reduce friction and speed up your workflows.
See Your Team’s Progress with the Resolved Issues Chart
Understanding where your team is making progress is critical to improving your security posture over time. The new Resolved Issues chart, now live on the Team page, shows:
How many vulnerabilities each user has resolved
Who’s leading the charge
Where additional coaching or support might be helpful
It turns everyday activity into insight—and gives leaders a new tool to recognize contributions and guide the team forward.
Together, these updates are all about clarity, accountability, and speed. Because when your tools are easier to use, your team becomes more empowered to take action—and that’s how real progress is made.
