Celebrating Our CTO, Ryan Margono
This Month At Lockwell
Apr 7, 2025
April 7th marks the birthday of someone who’s foundational to everything we do at Lockwell: our Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, Ryan Margono.
If you’ve ever interacted with Elle, resolved a security issue in our dashboard, or appreciated how easy it is to set up Lockwell for your team — you’ve felt Ryan’s impact. He’s the driving force behind our platform’s architecture, design, and functionality, and he leads our product and engineering efforts with purpose, humility, and a deep respect for the people we serve.
Before Lockwell, Ryan built his career at the intersection of complex tech and real-world utility. He’s worked on everything from large-scale infrastructure systems to mobile security apps, always with a sharp eye for how technology can be more human, more efficient, and more equitable. His LinkedIn is full of impressive titles, but what really stands out is the throughline in all his work: making powerful technology actually usable.
At Lockwell, that shows up everywhere. Ryan has been instrumental in shaping Elle — our AI Cyber Defense Agent — from an idea into a product that gives small teams the power of an in-house security expert, without needing one. He’s also architected the backend systems that make our tools fast, secure, and responsive to real threats in real time.
But what makes Ryan’s work really stand out isn’t just the technical brilliance — it’s the intention behind it. Ryan builds with people in mind. He’s always thinking about the nonprofit IT manager with too many hats, the small business owner trying to protect their team, or the admin who just needs a clear next step.
He’s the person in the room asking:
“How can we make this smarter? Easier? More intuitive?”
And then he goes and builds it.
So today, we’re celebrating Ryan — not just for his birthday, but for the clarity, creativity, and care he brings to Lockwell every day. We’re lucky to have him leading the way, and our customers are better protected because of the work he does behind the scenes.
Happy birthday, Ryan — here’s to another year of big ideas and better builds.
